DESCRIPTION
WET-2178 is a Glutaraldehyde based microbiocide for use in commercial and industrial cooling water systems, designed primarily to control slime forming bacteria and sulfate-reducing bacteria. It has a high tolerance for high pH, and is a popular choice for closed loop applications due to the high pH normally found in closed loops.

BENEFITS

• Prolongs equipment life by reducing microbio induced corrosion
• Helps maintain efficient heat transfer by minimizing bio-film and its deposits
• High dispersant action; helps to remove and suspend foulants
• Helps to penetrate and disperse slime masses

APPLICATIONS

· HVAC Cooling Water Systems

· Evaporative Condensers

· Process Cooling Water

· Hydrostatic Sterilizers and Retorts

· Air Washers

· Wastewater Systems

· Dairy Sweetwater Systems

· Pasteurizers and Warmers

DOSAGE
INITIAL DOSE: When the system is noticeably fouled, apply 4.2 - 8.5 fluid ounces of WET-2178 per 100 gallons of water in the system. Repeat until control is achieved.

SUBSEQUENT DOSE: When microbial control is evident, add 1.7 - 4.2 fluid ounces of WET-2178 per 100 gallons of water in the system weekly, or as needed to maintain control.

Maintain a microorganism planktonic count of <106 in open loops or <103 in closed loops.

PRECAUTION: If a system is severely fouled, it may be necessary to pre-clean the system prior to implementing a microbiocide program. For optimum protection of your system, see your WET representative for other recommendations.

FEEDING
WET-2178 should be fed via a chemical pump and timer assembly. It can be slug fed on occasions to maintain the above microbial count. Either way, it should be fed at a point where sufficient mixing will occur…do not feed in quiescent area.

Material Compatibility - Stainless Steel, Polyethylene, PVC. Do not use mild steel, yellow metals, aluminum.
